Photo Adventures - Cogar, Oklahoma
First weekend of 2016 is showing much promise. Steve and I went on our first Photo Adventure of 2016 with a trip west to Cogar, OK. A friend of mine had told me about the cool old gas station, so Steve and I decided to go check it out. We started by traveling down Rt 66 with a quick stop to Rock Island Diner in El Reno. When in El Reno, one must eat an onion burger. It was good, but not as good as Roberts Onion Burger.
From El Reno, we traveled down Highway 81 to Highway 37. Do not blink or you will miss the abandoned gas station. W.S. Kelly Gas Station and General Store is still standing. Fun Fact: the exterior of abandoned gas station can been seen in the 1988 movie Rain Man. We were a little disappointed because there was a car that someone had parked directly in front of the gas station. We did our best to capture images without the car.
