Day 4 of our Alaskan Cruise, we ventured to The Hubbard Glacier. It was hard to wrap my mind around what we were going to see. Was this going to be like the Titanic and if we get to close, we will end up with a giant whole in the boat? Would my husband turn into Leo and save us? Was there going to be a giant cube of ice just poking out of the water?
Once we were able to see the glacier, I was really not impressed; I was thinking, “What’s the big deal”? It looks like snow in the valley of these two mountains. What I didn’t realized was that when we began to see The Hubbard Glacier, we were still MILES away, as least 20 miles away. It seemed like we were never going to stop, we just kept going and going and going.
One thing I knew for sure, I was not going to move from my spot. I had a great location on an upper deck. Being 5 foot even, I knew that if I went to the lower deck, there was no way I could see over all the other tourists. So no matter how long it took to get to The Hubbard Glacier, I was staying put!!
