Alaska Our Story – Day 4 The Hubbard Glacier Part 2

March 12, 2012  •  Leave a Comment

There it is, Hubbard Glacier.  Now you can begin to see how large it is.  What we didn’t know at the time, was that we were still 10-15 miles away from the glacier.

If it hadn’t been so cold, you could have felt the excitement in the air as our ship began to go through the ice that was on the sea.  You could see and hear the excitement as more and more people crowded on the desk.  My secret place was not so secret anymore.

As we got closer to land and the glacier, we began to look for bears and sea creatures.  We saw a few seals, but that was all.   We wanted to see some whales, bears, and eagles.  Guess what, we finally did….well we found ice that looked like whales, sharks and seals.

Happy Shooting,

Mitzi
